Aambala

Ambala (Eng : Man) is a Tamil action masala film of 2015 directed, written and co produced by Sunder C. Vaishal was another co-producer of the film. The film casts Sunder C, Vaishal, Hansika Motwani, Prabhu, Ramya Krishnan and Santhanam. The film was a super hit in Tamil and was a dubbed version 'Maga Maharaja' released in Telugu in February. This is the trilling romantic story told with a humorous touch about two lovers. There is pain of loss at the same time joy of achievement. Saravanan (Vishal), who works as an agent gathering people for politicians and Rajasekhar (Santhanam), a police inspector, both allured by the charm of Maya (Hansika). Both of them urdently desired to marry her. But crooked Saravnan played some immoral traffic stories on Rajasehar and he was dismissed from his service and now works as a door keeper in a hotel. Saravanan make this opportunity to strengthen the relationship with Maya. Rajasekhar make out their relation and wondered about this. He direcly asked Saravanan how he managed to win her heart. Then Saravanan told all the stories to Rakasekhar including his mischievous plans that made Rajasekhar to leave his job. The furious Rakasehar send a hired specialist, who is wellverse in breaking other's love, to Saravanan and Maya. He made a forged copy of Saravanan with another lady and Showed this copy to Maya. They succeeded in making a conflict between maya and Saravanan. Due to depression Saravanan became a drunkard and his mother send him to Madurai to meet his father and get help over the issue. When they reach there the twist of the story comes in. Aalavanthan (Prabhu) who is their father had another relation beyond their mother and he had three sisters living in near by. He urged them to marry his sister's daughters. But Saravanan wondered to know that Maya is a daughter of one of his aunties. But for him the task was too fat to attain and he had to fight with the local MLA to get her. What is the relation with the local MLA and his family? Can he marry Maya With the consent of his family? Did Aalavanthan have any relation with the enemies of Saravanan? The film answers all these questions and procceds further to an unecpected climax. Ambala received many positive reviews and it was a super hit film of this year. Amoung the three films released this time it runs in the forefront and 'I' and 'Darling' affected its success a little. This film is a polititical satire and shows how all political parties show their strength in a massive ralley. This is a romantic film shows how blind is lovers over the issues of romance. They forget everything, their status in society, their future in society and the hardnosed actions to defeat their enemies in the war of love. The Glamorus and fantastic performance of the actors helped its success very much and the film succeeded in gathering people from all walks of life. The main defect that find in this film is the story which actually reflects a story happened in 90's. it would have been a huge success and for the present circumstances it looks as an outdated story. The actions are some exaggerated scenes with overwhelmed situations and backgrounds. I wish to conclude the review with a quote from Sify which says : "There isn't one quite moment in Ambala, a masala comic entertainer which is purely targeted at audiences seeking mindless actioners laced with family sentiments, comedy and plenty of glamour. If you leave your logic minds at home there are chances that you might enjoy this ride". So I strongly suggest this film in the list of watchable films of 2015.
