Anegan

Anegan (Eng: Multiple Single person) is a Tamil fantasy romantic thriller film of 2015 directed by K V Anand. KGS Entertaiment produced the film and music is composed by Harris Jayaraj. The film features Dhanush, Amyra Dastur, Karthik, Ashish Vidyathi, Aiswarya Devan, Jagan and Lena in lead roles. The film was released on 13 february in all over Tamilnadu and a dubbed version titled 'Anekudu' was released in Andhra and neibouring state Telungana. The film reveals a complex story of two lovers, a fantasy hallucinations, dreams and enlightenments changing from generation to generation. The story now takes place in their third rebirth and all other scenes are shown in flash backs. You should be a little careful to watch it and understand the legend obviously. MadhuMitha (Amyra Dastur) is a programmer in a gaming company runs by kiran (Karthik). Madhumitha once had a fantasy imagination that reveals his prebirth history. The sum of it is as follows: She was a daughter of a Burmeses' army general and fall in love with a Tamilian worker Munaruna (Dhanush) . But the cruel general , her father was not agreed to this proposal and tried to separate them. They tried to escape from there but their unscrupulous friends Saamuda and Mallika (jagan and Aishwarya Devan) betrayed them and they were killed. In the second imagination when she was in hospital due to an accident she over hears about the death of a person and his lover. They are missing now. But there also she was revealed to her that they were her second birth with her lover and she helped the police to mark the spot and regain their skeletons. This time the anti hero was her present Boss kiran (Karthik). So she could identify every body in a short time except her lover. She was searching for him passionately but no one was there to resemble his lover. But after a while a new employee joined in their office and for her surprise she could find her lover in him and she belived that this was actually the rebirth of his old lover Munaruna. The name of the new comer was Ashwin (Danush) and sha deliberately flirts with him relentlessly and missed no chance in company with him. But though he likes her, couldn't recognize his past. Kiran understood that Madhu was the incarnation of his old finacee and kidnaps her. Can Ashwin could remember his past and save Madhu this time? The twist and thrilling part of the story begins here and you are adviced to watch it to find the answers to quench your thirst. The film received positive as well as mixed reviews alike and the story of extreme case of remembering the past has clicked in the box office to some extent. The performance of Amyra is widely praised and she fully do justice to the character. The mental tension and agony she sufferes brings the audience to a third world where she lives sometimes. Another characters who steal the show was Karthik and his jolly nature in present and cruel personality in the previous birth is personified beautifully. Though looks simple he tries to exploit his employees by giving them drugs in order to squeeze their best from them for games. But The story of the film is not an innovative one and the same type films are released every now and then in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. If we watch closely many parts of the film had similarity with many films and it is culmination of their summaries. And the extreme case of remembering seems 'extreme' with reality and we are forced to believe that even in crores it may not happen to atleast one. But It is a fact that many extra ordinary things are happening in this world, most of which are unimaginable for us and we can grade this also into that category. I wish to conclude this review with a quote form the comments of Sudhir Srinivasan which follows as : 'Anegan is a complex story told simplistically. Had the complexity been retained, and had the masala spoon been of a lesser size, it would have made for a great film. for now though, it will have to satisfy itself with being a hit film'
