Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi and Boney Kapoor get emotional as Filmfare Awards pay tribute to Sridevi

Late actor Sridevi was paid a tribute at the 64th Filmfare Awards on Saturday. Present onstage were her daughters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi and her husband Boney Kapoor.

Actor Janhvi Kapoor, along with her sister Khushi, father Boney Kapoor and filmmaker Karan Johar came together on stage at the 64th Filmfare Awards in Mumbai on Saturday. The awards show paid a special tribute to Janhvi’s late mother and actor Sridevi. She was also awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award posthumously, according to a report in Business Standard.

A picture shared online by her fanpages showed Janhvi, Khushi and Boney on stage while another picture shows Karan escorting the two girls down a flight of stairs while Boney follows behind. In yet another picture, Boney can be seen handing over a trophy to Janhvi.

Sridevi died in Dubai in February 2018, leaving an entire nation in shock. She also posthumously received the Best Actress National Award last year for her performance in her film, Mom. Janhvi, Khushi and Boney came together to receive that award on her behalf as well.

Janhvi also performed at the said awards with Shah Rukh Khan. In a video from the red carpet, she can be heard saying, “I am just really excited. I can’t control my excitement.” She also said that this wasn’t her first time at the Filmfare Awards as she ha attended it before with her parents as well.

Films like Raazi, Badhaai Ho, Andhadhun and Sanju emerged the big winners at the awards night. Among actors, the evening belonged to Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Neena Gupta, Surekha Sikri and Gajraj Rao among others.

Raazi won five awards including Best Film and Best Director. Another big winner was Badhaai Ho, for which Neena walked away with the Critics Best Actor in Leading Role (Female) award, while Gajraj Rao and Surekha Sikri won in the Best Actor In A Supporting Role (Male) and Best Actor In A Supporting Role (Female) categories, respectively.

Andhadhun too was appreciated. Ayushmann was awarded the Critics Best Actor in Leading Role (Male), which he shared with Ranveer Singh who received it for his role in Padmaavat.
