Just yesterday, we told you that Aamir Khan wasn’t Farhan Akhtar’s first choice for his most celebrated directorial Dil Chahta Hai instead it was Akshaye Khanna who Farhan wanted to play Aakash’s character in the film. Spilling some more secrets about his films Dil Chahta Hai and Don Franchise was Farhan Akhtar who spoke to a leading daily about the same.
It’s not the first time that Farhan was asked about the sequel of Dil Chahta Hai. Commenting on the same, Farhan told the daily, “I have not really considered taking the film forward. I feel there were a certain energy, mood and a time in my life when Dil Chahta Hai happened and that’s why I wrote it.”

He further added, “Now if I think of (a sequel), I will be forcing the issue. It is going to go from ‘what I wanted to say’ to now ‘something more should be added’. What was great about it when it happened was there was no design.”

Further Farhan spoke in detail about how a design and idea needs to be planned before hand to actually take a film ahead. He said, “The minute we start thinking seriously that I have to do a sequel to it, then design comes into play. That is something I want to avoid. If ever suddenly the moment of eureka happens then may be, who knows. But nothing as of now.”

But during his conversation, Farhan gave us some hope for a sequel to his Don franchise. Don 2 saw Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra giving us some great action packed drama. But now from the looks of it, we may have a third installment of the film. Speaking on the same, Farhan shared, “The story of Don allows you to take the film forward. It is plot-driven. But a film like Dil Chahta Hai is so much about the feel, the characters, and the vibe of how people are.”

Next when asked if Don 3 is in making, Farhan immediately responded, “I am not ready with ‘Don 3’.That’s too far off.”
