The official new release date of 2.0, however, is pending. Bhaagamathie is the second big film to quickly swing in to block the date that was first earmarked for the much-awaited Rajinikanth-starrer.

2.0 was expected to hit the screens in October for Deepavali. However, the makers announced that it will release on January 25 next year due to delay in post-production. Following which, Vijay’s Mersal was released and became a blockbuster.
Bhaagamathie is directed by G Ashok of Pilla Jamindar fame. Following the humongous success of Baahubali franchise, Anushka’s popularity among fans of other states down south has grown significantly. In order to cash in on it, the filmmakers will be releasing the film simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.

The star cast led by Anushka, also features Aadhi Pinisetty, Unni Mukundan and Malayalam actor Jayaram. Bhaagamathie is bankrolled by UV Creations, the same banner which is producing actor Prabhas’ upcoming trilingual film Saaho.
