Saif Ali Khan liked his ‘Love Aaj Kal’ trailer more than daughter Sara Ali Khan’s?

Saif Ali Khan is one Bollywood star who does not mince any of his words and his honest reaction to daughter Sara Ali Khan’s ‘Love Aaj Kal’ trailer is proof.

While out on a promotional spree for his film ‘Jawaani Jaaneman’, Saif said in an interaction that he did watch his daughter’s trailer, and although he wishes her the best, he couldn’t help but feel the trailer of his 2009 film by the same name, was better.

Imtiaz Ali unveiled the trailer of his film ‘Love Aaj Kal’, starring Sara and Kartik Aaryan which opened to mixed reactions from the audience. While some praised the crackling chemistry between the two lead stars, others trolled the director for keeping the plot of his 2020 film similar to his 2009 flick. Others also took to social media to point out some stark similarities the trailer shared with Ali’s previous hit ‘Tamasha’, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.

Director Imtiaz explained the reason behind giving his film the same title and even teased about turning ‘ Love Aaj Kal’ into a franchise if he finds a new story to tell in the future.

“I feel this is a franchisable idea. I have made two films with the same title because after ten years, the basis on which I made the earlier film has changed. I am getting the opportunity to say it in a newer way. If we think we can maybe take it ahead in the future after a few years, if the process of the relationship (has evolved) and if there is something new to tell, a new story, then we will try to say it,” Imtiaz said at the trailer launch.

The film that also stars Randeep Hooda debutante Arushi Sharma, will hit screens on 14 February 2020.
