SIIMA Awards
SIIMA has taken on the daunting task of short listing films of all South Indian languages – Telugu, Tamil, Kannada & Malayalam. These movies have towered over the rest and won the appreciation of the audience in the last year. While the final nominees are chosen by a panel of experts, winners are decided by public vote.
The 6th South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA, 2016) was held at Singapore on June 30th and July 1st for all the four South movie industries.
Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Male) : Prakash Raj for “Ok Kanmani”
Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Female) : Radikaa Sarathkumar for “Thangamagan”
Best Actor in a Negative Role : Arun Vijay for Yennai Arindhaal
Best Lyricist : Vairamuthu for “Ok Kanmani”
Best Music Director : Anirudh Ravichander for “Naanum Rowdy Dhaan”
Best Playback Singer (Female) : Shwetha Mohan (“Enna Solla” in “Thangamagan”)
Best Playback Singer (Male) : Anirudh ( “Thangamey” in “Naanum Rowdy Dhaan”)
Best Comedian : RJ Balaji for “Naanum Rowdy Dhaan”
Best Debutant (Male) : GV Prakash for “Darling”
Best Debutant (Female) : Keerthy Suresh for “Idhu Enna Maayam”
Best Actress : Nayanthara for “Naanum Rowdydhaan”
Best Actress (Critics Choice) : Nithya Menon for “Ok Kanmani”
Best Actor : Vikram for “I”
Best Actor (Critics Choice) : Jayam Ravi for “Thani Oruvan”
Best Film : Thani Oruvan
Best Director : Vignesh ShivnN for Naanum Rowdy Dhaan
