Vicky Kaushal And Katrina Kaif Are Now More Than ‘Just Friends’ After His Breakup With Harleen Sethi

Vicky Kaushal and Harleen Sethi made their breakup Insta-official when they unfollowed each other on social media. And now reports suggest that something’s brewing between him and Katrina Kaif.

Ever since Sara Ali Khan confessed her ‘crush’ for Kartik Aaryan on Koffee With Karan season 6, fans have been rooting for their relationship and hoping to see glimpses from their dinner date. Looks like after Aaj Kal lovebirds, Sara and Kartik, another ‘Koffee With Karan’ Ne Bana Di Jodi is of Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif. Even though Vicky was then in a relationship with Harleen Sethi, but recently they broke up and the reason speculated for the same is his growing proximity with Katrina.

Do you remember when Katrina Kaif revealed on Koffee With Karan that she wanted to work with Vicky Kaushal, as she felt the two would look good together? Karan Johar told Vicky when he came on the show and the Masaan actor pretended to faint in disbelief. Later, in an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Uri: The Surgical Strike star had said, “I was surprised that she knows about my existence.” Guess, she really did!

Vicky Kaushal and his now-estranged girlfriend, Harleen Sethi made their breakup Insta-official when they unfollowed each other on social media. Reports have been rife that the recently held gala nights and award function bloomed friendship between most eligible ‘singles’ of B-town, Vicky and Katrina Kaif. From singing ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ to shouting ‘How’s the josh? High, sir!’, Vicky and Katrina’s brewing friendship has become the talk of the town lately. Vicky and Katrina reunited at Zoya Akhtar’s house party, and speculations have it that they are now more than ‘just friends’.

During an award show, when Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif were together on-stage, he ensured to make good use of the opportunity and asked her, “Why don’t you find a nice boy like Vicky Kaushal and get married to him?” He further explained, “The season of weddings is on, so I thought, you too would want to do the same and so I thought I ought to ask you.” Katrina, pretended that she didn’t get his point, and asked him, “What?” To which, Vicky probed, “Mujhse Shaadi Karogi?” with the song playing in the background. Katrina couldn’t help but blushingly replied, “Himmat nahi hai (I don’t have the courage).” And Salman Khan, Katrina’s rumoured ex who was also present at the award show, had a priceless reaction to this stint of Vicky and Katrina.

Once Vicky Kaushal had dedicated the song, “Do you know? Main tenu kinna pyar karda…Do you know? Main tere utte kinna marda. Do you know?” to his then-girlfriend, Harleen Sethi on Neha Dhupia’s chat show, No Filter Neha. And now, it seems like that the duo are not even on talking terms. Vicky had said about his relationship with Harleen, “Felt right from the very beginning. Whatever happened, happened in a very organic way.” But now at HT India’s Most Stylish Awards, Vicky confirmed that he is single, and when asked if he is ready to mingle, he retorted, “Ready to mingle on stage with the audience.”

In a 2018 interview with The Times of India, Vicky Kaushal had talked about love, “Love hasn’t changed and it never will, no matter what kind of a society we become. You will still feel the butterflies in your stomach when you meet that special person for the first time, when you feel differently for that one person in the room, when you can’t take your eyes and thoughts off him/her. It doesn’t matter how new or old school you are. However, with time and exposure, the social fabric changes. So, while love remains the same, our approach towards it changes.”

Sharing an instance of how his parents had met and how the thought of marrying someone you don’t know scares him, Vicky Kaushal went on to add, “Today’s generation is not just commitment-phobic towards relationships, but everything that seems permanent. Most people didn’t do that back in the day. I’ll take my parents for instance. My dad met my mom just once before their marriage. My mother, who didn’t know what a masterji on a Bollywood set is, got married to a man who she didn’t know anything about and moved to an unfamiliar city from Punjab. It scares me to even think where she got the courage to do this. Look at our generation, we question everything the minute we encounter a difficult situation. We start doubting and questioning the relationship.”

Speaking of his belief that people’s expectations screw up a relationship, Vicky Kaushal added, “I am from this generation and I am like many others, who question everything. I’ve been in relationships. After a rough day, you have big questions about compatibility and whether the effort you’re making for the other person is valued or not. We don’t give a minute to think that the significant other could have been in a bad mood that day. I have gone through that myself and messed up my relationships. I talk out of experience that relationships don’t get messy; it’s our heads that are messy. People’s expectations and beliefs screw up relationships.”
