Vidya Balan: John Abraham and I were supposed to do ‘Lootera’

Vidya Balan has been in the industry for almost 11 years now and the actress says that her journey has been full of ups and down.

While speaking to Bombay Times, Vidya was asked if in her career span of many years she regrets opting out of any project, to which the actress said a firm NO. But not many know that Sonakshi Sinha’s role in ‘Lootera’ was earlier offered to Vidya Balan, explaining why the actress opted out of this one she said, “In 2007 ‘Lootera’ came to me, John (Abraham) and I were supposed to do it. Then, we decided not to make it. Later, Vikramaditya Motwane went on to do ‘Udaan’, and we all went on to do other films. Then I heard that Ranveer and Sonakshi are doing it. I watched the film and loved Sonakshi in it. There was one song ‘Monta Re’, and you know my affection towards anything Bengali. So I felt, if I had done the movie, this song would have been filmed on me. The film was great with them; I only wish that I had that one song.
