Vijay’s Mersal becomes the first South Indian film to get a Twitter emoji, Rajinknath’s 2.0 and Pawan Kalyan’s next will follow suit

Wait, what? Rajinikanth and Pawan Kalyan are following Thalapathy Vijay’s footsteps?

Vijay‘s Mersal created history by becoming the first South Indian film to get a Twitter emoji. While several Bollywood films including recent releases like Judwaa 2 and Tubelight, have had Twitter emojis, this is the first time such an initiative was taken for a South Indian film. The idea was to generate buzz and make Mersal a hit among fans. The trend caught on and we have to say we are quite impressed! And after seeing such a success story, we hear that the makers of Rajinikanth’s 2.o and Pawan Kalyan’s next are also planning to use these emojis during the promotional activities. In fact, according to Hindustan Times, while the 2.o team is really serious about the idea, the team associated with Pawan Kalyan’s next project is still thinking about their plan. However, an official announcement is awaited from both the film camps.

Apart from the Twitter emoji, the makers of Rajinikanth‘s 2.o has planned an audio launch in Dubai on October 27. It will be held in the Burj park, a sprawling lawn located right next to the legendary Burj Khalifa. Reportedly, the makers are going to spend Rs 12 – 15 crore on this programme, which will have a live performance by music maestro AR Rahman. On November 12, the 2.o teaser will be released during a grand event in Hyderabad and the trailer will be launched on Rajinikanth’s birthday (December 12) at a special event in Chennai.

Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan’s film with Trivikram will take off soon, with the team flying off to Europe for a month long schedule. It has been confirmed that the film will hit the silver screen during the Sankranti festival next year.
